With NotifyVisitors no-code event tracking tools, marketers and website owners can monitor various user interactions, such as button clicks, form submissions, page views, and more, without having to manually implement tracking codes into the website's source code. This allows for easier and quicker implementation of event tracking, enabling businesses to gather valuable data on user behavior and engagement without the need for coding expertise.

In this guide, we explore the significance of static event tracking.

Understanding static event tracking

Before diving into NotifyVisitors' specific features, let's establish a clear understanding of no-code event tracking. Events are user interactions with content that can be tracked and analyzed to gain insights into user behavior. Traditional event tracking often required marketers to manually implement tracking codes into the website's source code. However, with no-code solutions offered by NotifyVisitors, marketers and website owners can track events without involving their tech team for any code changes

Step-by-step guide to track static events in NotifyVisitors

To configure static tracking options, log in to your NotifyVisitors account. Once logged in, navigate to “settings.” Now click on the "Events" option available under the schema category. Here, you'll find options to create and manage various types of events.

Now, select the “static events” tab and click on the "Create event" button to initiate the process of creating a new no-code event.

A  pop-up will appear where you'll be prompted to define the parameters of the event you wish to track:

Event: Enter a descriptive name for the event you want to track. This helps you easily identify and distinguish it from other events.

Scope: Specify the scope of your event, which determines how frequently it will be tracked. You have the following options to choose from:

  • "On every visit": Tracks the event each time a user visits the page.
  • "Per session": Tracks the event once per user session, regardless of the number of page visits.
  • "Once in a lifetime": Tracks the event only once per user visit/action, regardless of subsequent visits or sessions.

Attributes: Define any additional attributes you want to track for the event. Enter specific key-value pairs to capture relevant information. You can add multiple attributes by clicking on the "add more field" option.

Page URL: Specify the page URL or page path where the event should be tracked. Use options like "contains," "equals to," "and," etc to define the URL criteria. Add multiple page URLs by clicking on the "add more fields" option.

Call this event on: Select the trigger for the event, such as "page load" or "button click." If you choose "button click," specify the type of selector to identify the button.

After filling in the necessary details, click on the submit button to finalize the event creation process. Once submitted, you'll see your event listed among the tracked events. To enable it, simply turn on the status as shown in the image below.

Static code event management

For each such event you create, you will notice three icons: edit, analytics, and delete. You can use these actions to manage the static event-

Edit: This option enables you to modify the parameters of a static event, including its scope, as previously explained. Adjusting the scope allows you to fine-tune how frequently the event is tracked, ensuring it aligns with your analytics objectives.

Analytics: By selecting this option, you gain access to comprehensive event analytics and insights. This feature empowers you to delve into user engagement data related to the specific event, aiding in understanding user behavior and interaction patterns.

Delete: Utilizing this option, you can remove a static event from your configuration. Deleting events helps streamline your event list, ensuring efficient management of tracked interactions on your website.

Conclusion

Static event tracking has emerged as an empowering feature for businesses to gain deep insights into user behavior without the need for code implementation. By utilizing this powerful tool, businesses can unlock the full potential of static event tracking. With deeper insights into user behavior, businesses can make informed decisions, optimize their digital strategies, and ultimately drive growth and success in the competitive digital realm.
