Connect NVecta to ChatGPT using MCP (Model Context Protocol)

Modified on Wed, 21 Jan at 3:16 AM

NVECTA integrates with ChatGPT using MCP (Model Context Protocol), a standard that allows AI assistants to securely access real data and take action inside connected platforms. With MCP, ChatGPT goes beyond answering questions, it can fetch analytics, create segments, and help you act directly within your NVECTA  workspace.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to connect NVECTA with ChatGPT and use it in real scenarios, from analyzing data to turning insights into action.

Requirements

  • ChatGPT Plus plan (or higher) on the web or desktop app
  • NVECTA MCP server URL:

https://mcp.notifyvisitors.com/mcp

Connect NVECTA to ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web or desktop app. Click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner and go to Settings. Inside Settings, open Apps to manage integrations.

  1. In Apps, open Advanced settings and turn on Developer Mode. This step is required to add custom MCP connectors that are not available by default.
  2. You’ll now see a Create button. Click this button to add a new MCP connector.

Enter name NVECTA, optionally add icon and description to help identify the app later, and paste the MCP server URL: https://mcp.notifyvisitors.com/mcp

Accept the terms and click Create.

  1. ChatGPT will redirect you to NVECTA’s authorization page. If you are not already logged in, you’ll first see NVECTA’s login screen. Sign in using your NVECTA credentials to continue.
  2. After login, click Authorize to grant ChatGPT access to your NVECTA workspace. Once authorization is complete, your NVECTA app will be successfully connected.

If the connection doesn’t complete successfully, return to ChatGPT, open the newly created NVECTA app, and click Connect. You’ll be redirected to NVECTA again, select Continue to NVECTA, then click Authorize to complete the connection.

Once the connection is successful, you can see the list of actions ChatGPT can perform using NVECTA, such as fetching analytics, creating segments, launching campaigns, building journeys, and accessing survey data.

How it works

To use NVECTA via MCP, start a new chat in ChatGPT. Click the + icon next to the message box, select More, and then choose NVECTA as the active connector.

Once the connection is complete, you’ll see the full list of actions ChatGPT can perform using NVECTA. This includes fetching analytics, creating and refining segments, launching campaigns, building journeys, and accessing survey data.

Note

Developer Mode must remain enabled to continue using MCP. If Developer Mode is turned off, the NVECTA MCP connection will be disconnected.

Let’s try this with a practical example.

Example

Let’s take a practical, funnel-based example to see how NVECTA works with ChatGPT in action.

In this scenario, we analyze the Digital Fixed Deposit (FD) opening funnel to understand exactly where users are dropping off and what’s causing the friction.

In response, ChatGPT pulls the funnel data from NVECTA and returns a clear table (shown in the image above). This table highlights the number of users at each step in the FD funnel and the drop-off between steps, making it easy to see how users progress and where they exit before completing the flow.

Diagnose and measures

Now, based on the funnel analytics, we can ask ChatGPT to diagnose why a significant portion of users are dropping off at the KYC started step, along with suggesting practical ways to improve completion.

In its response, ChatGPT explains that users tend to abandon the journey at this point because KYC introduces additional friction. Based on this diagnosis, ChatGPT suggests several practical measures to improve KYC completion.

Turn insight into action

Among the suggested measures, ChatGPT also recommended re-engaging users through targeted campaigns. We can act on this immediately by asking ChatGPT to create a journey directly within the same conversation.

In response, ChatGPT calls the relevant NVECTA tools and creates the journey for us, saving it as a draft. We can review this journey in the NVECTA panel, make any necessary adjustments, and then publish it when ready.

This is how you move from analytics diagnosis action in a single conversation, without manually building reports, segments, or campaigns.

Similarly, you can use ChatGPT to fetch any insight from NVECTA and immediately act on it, whether that’s fixing traffic drops, improving conversions, or launching targeted follow-ups.

Troubleshooting

  • Can’t find “Create” in Apps: Developer Mode is not enabled, enable it in Advanced settings.
  • Authorization keeps looping: Ensure you’re logged in to NVECTA in the same browser session, or log out and log back in to NVECTA, then retry connect.
  • No results for an event or property: Your workspace may be using a different event or property name than the one mentioned in your prompt (for example, lead_submitted instead of form_submission, or traffic_source instead of utm_source). In most cases, ChatGPT automatically checks available events, but if results are still missing, verify the naming manually. For event properties, you can ask ChatGPT to list all properties for a specific event (for example, “List all properties for the form_submission event”) and then retry with the correct names.

Conclusion

Once NVECTA is connected to ChatGPT, you can use simple, natural language to explore customer behaviour and take action instantly. From queries to analysis to creating segments, drafting campaigns, and triggering journeys, everything happens in one continuous workflow.

This approach removes manual effort and speeds up decision-making, helping you move faster from insight to action, directly from the chat.
